Administrator

About Us: Healthwin is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing exceptional care to our residents. Situated in South Bend, Indiana, our 145-bed Skilled Nursing Facility is committed to upholding the highest standards of quality and compassion in long-term care.

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Licensed Nursing Home Administrator to join our team. The Administrator will play a crucial role in providing leadership, direction, and coordination of all operational aspects, including nursing and resident services. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Administrator will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations while upholding the mission and vision of Healthwin.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and oversee Facility Quality Improvement Program
  • Provide day-to-day leadership in facility operations
  • Develop, interpret, and implement policies in collaboration with the Governing Board
  • Assist the CFO in preparing the annual budget for submission to the Governing Board
  • Prepare monthly reports for the Governing Board on facility performance
  • Oversee the admission process and ensure smooth transitions for residents
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Foster the development of a strong leadership team and positive employee environment

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or related field required
  • Indiana Licensed Nursing Home Administrator
  • Three to five years of long-term care leadership experience preferred

MDS Coordinator

The MDS Coordinator conducts and coordinates the development and completion of the resident assessment process in accordance with the requirements of the state and federal regulations as well as the policies and procedures of Healthwin Specialize Care.

Qualifications: Must have at least 1 year of MDS experience and maintain a license to practice nursing for the State of Indiana in good standing. Possess knowledge of the RAI process from beginning to end including the care planning process and scheduling requirement for state and federal guidelines.

Director, Admissions & Marketing

Position Overview: Healthwin Specialized Care Facility is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Admissions & Marketing to lead our admissions process and enhance our community presence. This vital role will focus on managing inquiries, building relationships, and guiding prospective residents and families in their decision-making, all while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Primary Responsibilities:

Admissions Duties:

  • Oversee the inquiry and admissions process for prospective residents.
  • Gather and analyze pre-admission data to assess resident needs and facility capabilities.
  • Serve as the primary contact for healthcare discharge planners and families, providing comprehensive information and tours.
  • Conduct proactive outreach to medical professionals, senior organizations, and community groups to generate referrals.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with hospital accounts, legal and financial professionals, and community contacts.
  • Conduct assessments to ensure the suitability of prospective admissions.
  • Expedite emergency admissions and maintain up-to-date facility services information.
  • Compile and distribute admission documentation and report all inquiries, admissions, and discharges.
  • Act as a resource for residents and families regarding the admission process and financing options.

Marketing Duties:

  • Develop marketing materials, including press releases, brochures, and advertisements.
  • Implement sales and marketing campaigns to promote facility services.
  • Regularly update and maintain the company website.

Administrative Duties:

  • Ensure proper documentation and data entry related to admissions.
  • Stay informed on federal and state regulations, as well as Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
  • Collaborate with nursing and housekeeping teams to manage bed availability and room readiness.
  • Participate in team meetings to communicate updates on admissions and discharges.

Resident Rights Functions:

  • Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
  • Uphold and promote resident rights, ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
  • Engage in the prevention of resident abuse and report any concerns promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in healthcare marketing.
  • Minimum of 2 years in healthcare admissions within skilled nursing facilities.
  • Nursing experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial asset verification and insurance eligibility (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance).
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Medical Records

HIM Clerk

Performs the clerical, receptionist and communication duties required for nursing unit function and maintain health records of residents on the nursing unit. Performs other Medical Records functions as assigned by the Manager of Heath Information Services.

Qualifications: High School Graduate. Previous HIM Clerk experience preferred. Must have knowledge of the rules of medical terminology: spelling and punctuation. Must have the ability to follow established procedures and organize tasks efficiently and effectively.
